I might get to post some photos eventually -- but that will take some time.

Although I have a digital camera, Rose refuses to use it, insisting on her old-fashioned film. And she takes so many snaps that I am not going to add to them with digital.

Eventually, I might get around to sorting out a few of her best snaps and getting them converted, then posting them.

Hey Andrew and Rose, I was so glad to hear that your van was sorted out and you can keep going. I also hit an obstacle that the staff at Wicked Africa were eager to sort out - I hit a pothole near the airport (unavoidable but my fault) and ended up with a bent wheel rim. They came out to me and took me to the nearest wheel shop and they got it sorted in a flash. These guys are the bomb. Another note: I want to know where your photos are from your trip? Erica

Hi Andrew, due to the harsh conditions in Africa vehicles cannot be guaranteed to work as well here as they do in the UK. The vans are all checked by our own Wicked mechanic prior to handover to the clients. We did run into problems due to the local strikes which resulted in stock delays, but we have managed to get the items you are missing in your van - so when you pass by the Depot we will place them in your van. We do our best to sort out broken-down or broken-into vehicles so that your only concern is to get to your destinations on time (especially the games). You do have our number should you run into difficulties during your trip. Keep safe and Drive safely

I could not believe how long i was looking for a place to stay during the world cup.

Accommodation is so expensive during this world cup; everybody is asking almost triple the price. Wicked Campers came to my rescue!! They will have a wicked campsite exclusive for wicked campers at a very low price (R50 per person per night and you obviously sleep in your camper), that i think is fantastic news for all the wicked travellers! All I did was go onto the Wicked Africa site and booked my stay there.

hope to see you there!

On the side: wicked also have a shuttle service to pick up all the wicked travellars at the Johannesburg airport during the world cup! so send Harvey an email if you need to be collected from airport - also only R50 per person
